Aerial Indy

A view of downtown Indianapolis by way of passenger jet coming in for a landing. This view is from the southeast. You can clearly see Garfield Park in the lower left of the photo. That's Interstate 65 snaking up from the bottom right and splitting off with I-70 at center right.

This photo was taken in 2004 so you can still see the old RCA Dome with the large white rook at left center. That was the former home of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts. Since then the RCA Dome (originally called the Hoosier Dome) has been demolished and replaced by Lucas Oil Stadium.

One thing I find interesting about this photo is towards the upper left you can see Michigan Road (Hwy 421) heading off to the northwest in almost a perfectly straight line.

Indianapolis viewed from southeast of downtown. I-65 is the major highway seen in the lower right of the photo.
